The Chapter Historian is

The Chapter was formed in 1954 and the first meetings were held in Walter Hudson's kitchen.  Walter is a founding member of the chapter.

Chapter members decided to build a Baby Ace in 19XX.  Progress was relatively slow until Bill Williams took the lead to finish the airplane.  In gratitude for his work, the BoD granted Bill Williams a lifetime membership in the chapter.

Sep 2006 - EAA Chapter 175 Fly-in at VDF

        This has the potential of being a lot of fun.

 

7 Jan 2006 - Annual Chapter Holiday Dinner

        Plan ahead to be at this event.  Most of the chapter members will be in attendance.

        The cost is nominal and it is a great opportunity to meet and talk to fellow pilots and their families

 

4-6 Nov 2005 - Wings n Things

        Wings n Things is an annual event featuring not only airplanes, but also custom cars and motorcycles.  Chapter 175 is a major player in the event and we need lots of volunteer help.  Contact President Bud Yerly at 318-9074 to find out what you can do to help.

 

3-5 Nov 2005 - AOPA Convention

        AOPA chose Tampa for their annual convention.  There will be hundreds of aircraft flying into Tampa for the event many of which will bed down at VDF.  Chapter volunteers will assist Leading Edge Aviation with airfield operations.  If you'd like to volunteer, contact Dave Hansma at 813-962-8229.

 

19 Nov 2005 - Fly-in for Young Eagle flying  0830-1100 hamburgers and hot dogs.

 

24 Oct 05 - Monthly Chapter Meeting at EAA 175 Chapter house

        Breakfast is served at 8 AM, so arrive early with an appetite

                Dave Hansma and Tom McLinsky are the chefs.

        Meeting begins at 9 AM
