WAY TO GO CHAPTER 175

Our annual “Destination: Aviation” scholarship fund raiser was a success again this year.  Your contributions will enable a young person to go to a week’s summer camp who would otherwise not be able to participate.

Thanks to all who donated at the May chapter meeting despite not getting much of a “heads up” that we’d be taking up a collection as we do each year at this time.  The fact we didn’t have an April newsletter, because of Sun ‘n Fun, threw the schedule off.

While we just barely collected enough to send one youngster to a week-long camp, we will “pass the hat” again at the June meeting.  Frankly, just two chapter members donated almost all of the money to make this scholarship effort a success this year.  Additional funds collected this month will enable another child to at least attend one of the shorter camps or go toward extra materials and supplies to make the summer program even more enjoyable for all the kids.

So, if you haven’t had a chance to make your contribution yet this year, please do so at the June meeting.  Cash is fine.  Checks should be made to EAA Chapter 175.  All funds will be forwarded to “Destination: Aviation” programs at the air museum.

Reminder: All donations are fully tax deductible, as the Florida Air Museum is a 501(c)(3) educational organization.

Annual Dinner January 2009

Pictured below are pictures from the EAA 175 Annual Dinner held on January 10, 2009.  Earl Groff presented a most interesting program on his naval experiences as a pilot on the USS Hancock.  It was a great evening for all.
